Tobias in the hours after…

In the moments after our son was born, we really couldn’t keep from the wide-eyed wonderment that comes with the addition of human life to the world. But, the one thing that surprised us more than anything was how hard it was to remember the pronouns that go along with having a son.

We kept saying (or almost saying, at least), her or she, when clearly Tobias could not be more manly. Isabelle’s contribution to our lives is clearly so pervasive that even our use of children’s pronouns are affected. We are getting better though.

I can’t tell you how fun it is to say that I have a son. A son and a daughter. We have the set.

As you can see, Isabelle isn’t quite ready to recognize our foursome. But, my hope is that in the days to come, you will be able to see the difference in her face.
